Wondering if I am missing something, but it looks as if you can't take home Genus demos to try out but must attach them and try them out in store. Also, no presence I could find on MP. This is really inconvenient; so much so that I gave up and left. I don't feel comfortable trying on demos in-store.

with the amount of rippers its understandable the way they have it setup. We've got for clothing design a few bodies with that head on it. other than an issue with eyes in our opinion you can achieve some pretty good results for detailed mesh heads with some of the amazing skin designers out there.

1/4 It's a constant battle of higher fences and taller ladders and there is no cure for all time, since the thieves and pirates will always find their workaround.

2/4 The trick is for stores to find the balance where customers don't start falling away due to fences meant to keep out thieves. If the goal is X net profit, then a good balance should be struck.

3/4 It could just be me as a customer, but given the price of mesh heads, I like to take it home and spend a few hours to see if I can get it to look the way I want it to.

4/4 You really can't do that in the store, but there again, if it's just me, I don't blame them at all for doing it the way they do it since it seems to be working for them.

I absolutely agree with you on all points. Today at preview skin fair the groups said the head was not out and she could not get in to set up and would not be dropping demos to PGP Group. I don't understand the issue. I don't think anyone is going to ever just wear a demo head forever. They will buy it if they can have time to see what it can do. When I do go to demo it and can't leave the event sim to go home in less lag. There will be no sale sadly.

Yes, you bring up a very good point about lag, too. Some people who have barely okay computers will only know how something truly looks to everyone if they can take it home to their no-lag skybox where they can turn their settings up. Then there is the privacy thing. In RL, since they can't just toss out copies of demos, stores give you private rooms to try on the goods.

In all fairness, Genus might think what they're offering is more convenience and heaven knows as a seller myself, I probably make far more fauxes pas than Genus or anyone else so I'm totally sympathetic. But there is a reason Catwa and the others try to be as accessible as possible - accessibility is half the battle.
