I had to lock the direct registration system on the site cause of getting 80 to 90 spam accounts joining a day. However, if users want to invite friends to join I have a solution for that that has been on the site for over a year now. Which you can see in your profile settings. This allows you to send an invite link that gives a friend or invited user the ability to register on the site while still keeping spam bots out
